According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) and the Ministry of Trade, exports of knitted and crocheted garments (HS **) eased *.* per cent year on year to $*.*** billion during January-August ****. Shipments of woven apparel and clothing accessories (HS **) recorded a steeper decline of *.* per cent to $*.*** billion.
The weakness became more pronounced in August. Exports of knitted garments decreased *.* per cent year on year to $***.*** million, while woven apparel exports dipped *.* per cent to $***.** million.
