
India’s garment exports fell 10.38 per cent to $4.967 billion in April–July 2026, a $575.49-million loss, while yarn-and-thread exports rose 17.15 per cent to $1.846 billion.
The US drove 69 per cent of the net fall, with exports there down 21.41 per cent to $1.466 billion.
Recovery needs stronger volumes, market share, factory utilisation and jobs, not just a less severe contraction.
