Argentina apparel imports rise 31.7% in Jan-Jul after liberalisation



Argentina’s apparel imports rose sharply during the first seven months of ****, extending the strong expansion recorded last year as greater access to imported goods and a more liberal trade environment encouraged overseas sourcing.

According to sourcing intelligence tool TexPro, the country imported apparel worth $***.*** million during January-July ****, up **.** per cent from $***.*** million in the corresponding period of ****, according to trade data.

China remained by far Argentina’s largest apparel supplier, accounting for more than half of total imports. Shipments from China increased **.** per cent year on year to $***.*** million from $***.*** million. China’s share edged up to **.** per cent from **.** per cent a year earlier.
