Bangladesh’s BGMEA calls media reports of RMG units’ closure baseless



The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) recently dismissed claims by some media outlets that several garment factories, including those of the DBL Group, were shut down due to gas and power shortage.

Terming the information as ‘completely false and baseless’, the trade body said: “Reports circulated by some newspapers, online news portals and social media platforms had created unnecessary confusion among stakeholders and could undermine the stability of the country’s readymade garment industry.”
