The first scheduled commercial flight, IndiGo 6E-2278, reportedly arrived at the airport from Lucknow’s Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport at 7:55 am. After landing in Jewar, the aircraft continued its onward journey to Bengaluru, where it was scheduled to arrive at 11:05 am.
The launch marks a significant step forward in the expansion of India’s aviation infrastructure, enhancing connectivity across Uttar Pradesh and the National Capital Region (NCR).
The inaugural arrival was met with celebrations at the airport. Passengers onboard clapped to celebrate the successful landing, while airport authorities welcomed the aircraft with a ceremonial water cannon salute.

Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu flagged off commercial operations at the airport, which is being positioned as a key aviation hub for the NCR.

Adding to the significance of the occasion, around 170 farmers from the Jewar region were scheduled to travel on an inaugural flight to Lucknow. The delegation, led by Jewar legislator Dhirendra Singh, is expected to meet Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and express gratitude for the development projects for the establishment of the airport.

The airport is expected to ease pressure on Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport while significantly improving connectivity for residents of nearby regions. Until now, many passengers travelling between Noida and Lucknow either relied on Delhi airport or undertook long road journeys.
Built under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) by Yamuna International Airport Private Limited, a subsidiary of Zurich Airport International AG, the project represents one of India’s largest greenfield airport developments. Phase I has been developed at an investment of approximately₹ 11,200 crore. The facility features a 3,900-metre runway capable of handling wide-body aircraft and is equipped with advanced navigation systems.
Key things travellers should know
For travellers, the airport offers a new gateway connecting western Uttar Pradesh and the NCR with major domestic destinations. The return IndiGo service, flight 6E-2279, is scheduled to depart Noida at 6:55 pm and arrive in Lucknow at 8 pm.
New travel option
Beginning June 16, Akasa Air will also launch daily flights from Noida International Airport to Bengaluru and Navi Mumbai, expanding travel options for passengers.

IndiGo has announced direct connectivity from Noida International Airport to more than 16 destinations across India, significantly expanding travel options for passengers in Delhi-NCR and Uttar Pradesh.
Enhanced regional connectivity
The airline will also offer seamless one-stop connections between several Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities and major metros. Travellers will be able to connect between city pairs such as Amritsar-Jodhpur, Bareilly-Bhopal, Bareilly-Jaipur, Chandigarh-Pantnagar, Jammu-Jodhpur, Jaipur-Dharamshala and Kishangarh-Bhopal, among others.
Daily flights to key cities
From today, the airport will see regular services to destinations including Lucknow, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Amritsar, Jammu, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Bhopal, Dehradun, Dharamshala, Pantnagar, Bareilly, Jodhpur and Kishangarh.
