The speech was far more than a ceremonial moment—it sounded like a vision statement for India’s future
PM Modi hoists sacred saffron flag at Ram Mandir, marking completion of the temple.
In a moment that he described as a “civilisational resurgence”, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unfurled the Dharmadhwaja atop the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, declaring it a symbol of India’s cultural revival, spiritual continuity, and collective strength.
The speech was far more than a ceremonial moment—it sounded like a vision statement for India’s future. From cultural revival to national resolve, covering the past, present, and future, these are the five transformative messages that the PM put out from Ayodhya, defining India’s journey ahead.
1. A 500-Year Legacy Reborn: India’s Civilisational Resurgence
The Prime Minister declared the day as the completion of a centuries-long spiritual journey. The Dharmadhwaja atop the Ram Temple is not merely a flag; it is the symbol of a reborn national consciousness, he said.
Modi said centuries of wounds are healing, and centuries of struggle have found closure. “A civilisational flame kept alive for 500 years has reached its fulfilment. The Dharmadhwaja is the banner of India’s cultural renaissance,” the Prime Minister said.
2. Ram: The Guiding Philosophy for a Viksit Bharat
“If India must become a developed nation, we must awaken Ram within ourselves”—with these words, PM Modi placed Lord Ram at the centre of India’s roadmap to 2047. According to him, Ram is not just faith—Ram is governance, character, discipline, and nation-building.
He described Ram as the union of truth and valour, the embodiment of duty and compassion, the ideal of humility, the symbol of justice, public welfare, and righteous conduct.
3. Breaking Free from the Colonial Mindset
One of the strongest messages of the speech was a call to dismantle the psychological chains left behind by colonial rule. The PM said Macaulay’s project (in 1835) of mental slavery must be destroyed within the next decade.
“India must rediscover its own systems, its own knowledge, its own heritage. India is the Mother of Democracy, not an imitator of foreign models. We gained freedom, but the inferiority complex never left. Now that must end,” the PM said.
Modi said it is time India reclaims its authentic self.
4. Ayodhya: The Model of Future India
The PM positioned Ayodhya as the blueprint for India of the coming century. With a world-class airport and railway station, Modi said modern infrastructure is meeting sacred heritage. 45 crore pilgrims coming to Ayodhya since the Pran Pratishtan in 2024 is already energising the local economy, he said.
The PM said that temples of Shabari, Nishadraj, Rishi Valmiki, Rishi Vashishtha and others inside the Ram Temple are highlighting India’s inclusive ethos.
The PM said Ayodhya is emerging as a place where “Spirituality flows with AI, and tradition walks with modernity.”
5. A Call for National Unity
The Prime Minister invoked Ram’s chariot before the war with Ravana—a metaphor for India’s journey ahead. India’s “chariot to 2047″ must be powered by courage and patience, as wheels and truth and righteous conduct as its flag, the PM said. “Strength, wisdom, discipline, and public welfare should be its horses, while compassion, forgiveness, and equality should be its reins,” the PM said.
“When nation comes first, Ramrajya becomes achievable,” Modi said.
Overall, the PM indicated that India has entered a new civilisational chapter.
His address was not just a reflection on Ayodhya’s rebirth—it was a declaration of India’s direction for the future, which must be rooted in its values and powered by development. “Take pride in your heritage,” the PM said.
