Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday addressed a public event in Bihar’s Nawada, where he pointed towards an alleged rift in the Mahagathbandhan alliance and claimed that Congress did not even agree on Rashtriya Janata Dal’s (RJD) chief ministerial face, which is Tejashwi Yadav.

Addressing the people in Nawada, PM Modi accused the Congress-RJD alliance of prioritising the interests of two “corrupt” families before the needs of the people and said these two parties are contesting against each other in several constituencies.

“These parties revolve solely around two families. One is Bihar’s most corrupt family, and the other is the country’s most corrupt family. Now, a fierce battle has erupted between these two families. The “Prince of Jungle Raj” thinks that the Congress Prince’s foot march has left him high and dry,” he said.

“Not only did they leave him high and dry, but Congress didn’t even give the nod on the CM post. After this, RJD also decided to teach Congress a lesson and fielded its own candidate against the Bihar Congress President.”

The Prime Minister said the only identity of the RJD’s “jungle rule” of guns, cruelty, hatred, extortion, misgovernance and corruption, which has left a stain of massacre on the pride of Magadh and of social division. “If any employee got an increment, they were harassed. People sitting in AC rooms wouldn’t understand this, but people used to be troubled by increments because an increment meant paying more extortion money to the RJD,” he stated.

“For the Congress and ‘jungle raj’, family comes first before the public. Those who are backward are our priority. This is clearly visible in the welfare schemes of the NDA government. It is Prime Minister Modi’s resolve that every poor family should have a permanent home.”

He also stressed the importance of lifting Bihar from the era of extortion and Maoist terrorism. “This is the responsibility of every young person, every mother and sister. A developed Bihar and a developed India are our priorities,” he added.

Bihar will go for the first phase of Assembly elections on November 6, with a high-stakes battle between the ruling NDA and the opposition Mahagathbandhan.
