Rajya Sabha MP and former Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chairperson Swati Maliwal on Saturday intensified her attack on AAP supremo and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over the alleged allotment of a “luxurious palace” to him in Chandigarh’s Sector 2 under the Chief Minister’s quota.
Speaking to news agency ANI, Maliwal claimed AAP national convenor is occupying a “luxurious palace” in Chandigarh that was renovated by the Punjab government and handed to him without any official justification.

So now he has had the Punjab government build him a Sheesh Mahal 2.0 in Chandigarh. The Rajya Sabha MP alleged that after Kejriwal vacated his official residence in Delhi—popularly referred to by critics as the “Sheesh Mahal”—he was provided what she called “Sheesh Mahal 2.0″ in Chandigarh.
According to her, the accommodation is a “huge, luxurious palace built on two acres of land under the Punjab Chief Minister’s quota” in Sector 2, Chandigarh, and is “no less than a seven-star hotel.” Maliwal claimed the property underwent “extensive renovation” over the past month and that Kejriwal is now residing there.
Questioning the basis for allotting the residence to the Kejriwal, she said, “I don’t understand in what capacity he was given this palace. He isn’t even an MLA in Delhi. When I raised this issue, an attempt was made to spread lies by claiming that this is the Punjab Chief Minister’s camp office. But if it is indeed a camp office, why isn’t it open to the public? Why is it locked from inside?” she asked.
Maliwal also sought details of official meetings held at the premises. “And secondly, if this is indeed the Punjab Chief Minister’s camp office, tell us how many meetings have been held there in the last four years? This is a blatant lie” she said, adding, “The truth is that this luxurious palace, Sheesh Mahal 2.0, now belongs to Punjab’s super CM Arvind Kejriwal…,” she remarked.
Earlier on Friday, Maliwal tweeted, “After the Sheesh Mahal in Delhi became vacant, Arvind Kejriwal ji has had an even more splendid Sheesh Mahal built in Punjab than the one in Delhi.”
“In Chandigarh’s Sector 2, a luxurious 7-star government mansion of 2 acres under the CM quota has been allotted to Arvind Kejriwal ji,” she wrote.
Swati Maliwal further alleged that Kejriwal used government aircraft for personal and party-related travel. “Yesterday, he boarded a government helicopter right from in front of his house for Ambala, and then from Ambala, the Punjab government’s private jet took him to Gujarat for party work,” she claimed.
BJP Targets Kejriwal Over 7-Star Chandigarh Mansion, AAP Reacts
Soon after, the BJP also launched an attack on Kejriwal, accusing him of using the Punjab government’s resources to build a sprawling 2-acre mansion in Chandigarh.
“Sheesh Mahal 2.0. After getting a Rs 52 crore Sheesh Mahal built in Delhi, now Kejriwal will lounge in a 7-star government mansion spanning 2 acres in Chandigarh. The royal luxuries of Sir Ji, who puts on a drama of being an ordinary man in front of the public, show no signs of diminishing at all,” said the BJP on X.
However, the AAP refuted the claims, saying it was the CM’s camp office and accusing the BJP of spreading fake news. “Ever since the Prime Minister’s fake Yamuna story was exposed, the BJP seems to have lost its cool. And in its frustration, the BJP these days is faking everything,” it said on X.
