Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut on Friday announced a temporary break from public life due to serious health issues.
Raut himself informed his supporters about his illness through a social media post, revealing that his condition had suddenly deteriorated and that he is currently undergoing treatment. He said that doctors have advised him not to step out or mingle with people for now.
In a post on X, he shared a letter addressed to his “friends, family, and party workers,” informing them about his ill health. He expressed confidence that he would recover soon and return to active political life.
“You all have always shown faith and love towards me, for which I am grateful. However, recently I have encountered some serious health issues. Treatment is underway, and I will recover and return soon,” he said.
The senior leader said he has been advised by doctors to avoid public appearances and gatherings for the time being. “As per medical advice, I have been instructed to take rest and avoid public appearances or gatherings for now. I regret any inconvenience caused by this,” he noted.
PM Modi Wishes Speedy Recovery
Following the social media post, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished the Rajya Sabha MP a speedy recovery.
“Praying for your speedy recovery and good health, Sanjay Raut Ji,” PM Modi said in a post on X.
The Shiv Sena (UBT) MP further thanked the Prime Minister for his kind words.
“Respected Prime Minister Ji, thank you! My family is grateful to you! Jai Hind Jai Maharashtra!” he responded to PM Modi on X.

Who Is Sanjay Raut?
A prominent face of the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) and a key opposition voice in Maharashtra, Raut has been known for his sharp criticism of BJP and its allies.
He has been active in Maharashtra politics for several decades and is considered one of the closest aides of former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
Before entering politics, Raut worked as a journalist and is the executive editor of Saamana, the Marathi newspaper founded by Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray.
