Amit Shah at News18 event: “No infiltrator should be allowed to cast vote…Rahul baba can hold as many rallies as he wants. They consider infiltrators their vote bank.”
Home Minister Amit Shah
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, during News18 India’s Sabse Bada Dangal Bihar 2025 session with Network18 Group Editor-in-Chief Rahul Joshi, rubbished Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s ‘vote chori’ claims, saying action was being taken only against infiltrators.
On Gandhi’s vote chori yatra, Shah said, “I don’t understand how the Congress party thinks. They were giving some presentation on Karnataka voters. Whose government is ruling Karnataka? So has the Congress also done vote chori? He is also showing Himachal voter data…As far as Bihar is concerned, he held a vote chori yatra because the Election Commission was removing infiltrators from the list. I want to ask the people of Bihar – Should infiltrators be included in your voter list?”
“Our view is clear. No infiltrator should be allowed to cast vote in the country. They allow infiltration and protect the infiltrators because they consider them as their vote bank,” said Shah.
“Rahul baba can take out as many yatras as he wants. The BJP’s Modi Sarkar will remove every single infiltrator from the country. Chun chun ke nikaalenge…This is our sankalp,” said Shah.
On Bihar’s SIR, he said, “A lot of names were removed. Those who could not prove their citizenship have been removed. Indians can easily prove their citizenship. You and I have answers and documents…But of the votes that were removed, only three appeals have been received. If there was injustice, would there not have been appeals? This means the deducted names were not of Indian citizens. Their names have only been removed.”

Rubbishing the concerns over Nitish Kumar’s health raised by the opposition, Shah said, “From what I know, Nitish ji is holding four rallies a day. He is meeting people. Even I am holding four rallies. For rallies, you have to climb three flights of stairs. You have to walk for almost 2.5-3 km to do four rallies. Where is the question of his health [being in poor shape]?”
“He has been answering every question being asked by RJD’s Lalu Yadav and Rabdi Devi. They are trying to create a perception…” said Shah.
Shah also said he was confident that the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will form a government with unprecedented majority in Bihar. “We will form Bihar government with more than two-thirds majority for the NDA. When I say two-thirds majority, it means for NDA alliance. There is a wave in favour of NDA…”
Voting for the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections will be held on November 6 and November 11, with results on November 14.
