Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal took a swipe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his recent posts on X that linked three separate incidents—including a suicide by an IPS officer in Haryana, the death of a Dalit in Uttar Pradesh’s Raebareli, and an event inside the Chief Justice of India’s chamber—to the BJP and RSS.

Speaking to the media, Meghwal said that Rahul Gandhi’s remarks reflected a “hateful mentality” and accused him of drawing unnecessary political connections. He also compared Gandhi’s post to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge’s tweet, claiming that both appeared similar in tone and intent.

“If you compare Rahul Gandhi’s tweet with Mallikarjun Kharge’s tweet, similarities are evident in both. The incident that took place in the chamber of the Chief Justice of India is condemned by the Prime Minister, and I also condemn it. In Haryana, an IPS officer commits suicide, and the government takes immediate action. In Raebareli, a Dalit-related issue arises, prompting the UP government to take immediate action,” he said.

But he (Rahul Gandhi) links these three incidents and brings the BJP and RSS into the picture. This hateful mentality is evident in Rahul Gandhi’s tweet… This is the difference between his words and actions, and he has a habit of doing such things, which we condemn,” Meghwal told reporters.

The minister added that both state and central governments had responded promptly to the incidents, calling Gandhi’s remarks “unfortunate and politically motivated.”

Earlier, Gandhi, in a post on X, had lashed out at the BJP government highlighting the suicide of Haryana’s IPS officer Y Puran Kumar, and the death of a Dalit man in Uttar Pradesh’s Rae Bareli.

“The suicide of Haryana’s IPS officer Y Puran Kumar ji is a symbol of that deepening social poison which is crushing humanity in the name of caste. When an IPS officer has to endure humiliation and oppression because of his caste – then imagine, in what conditions an ordinary Dalit citizen must be living. The murder of Hariom Valmiki in Raebareli, the insult to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, and now Puran ji’s death – these incidents show that injustice against the deprived classes has reached its peak,” he wrote on X.

“The hatred and Manuvadi ideology of BJP-RSS have filled society with venom. Dalits, tribals, backward classes, and Muslims are gradually losing hope for justice. This struggle is not just Puran ji’s – it is of every Indian who believes in the Constitution, equality, and justice,” he added.
