On August 22, 2025, actor Govinda stepped out for his first public appearance amid ongoing divorce rumours with his wife, Sunita Ahuja. Despite the controversy, Govinda looked calm and composed, engaging warmly with paparazzi at the airport.
Dressed in an all-white ensemble, Govinda wore white trousers paired with a casual white T-shirt layered under a matching jacket. He accessorized minimally, opting for dark aviator sunglasses, a thin moustache, and a clean-shaven look. His relaxed yet suave appearance immediately caught attention.
As cameras surrounded him, the actor greeted photographers with a wave and blew flying kisses toward them, signaling that he was unfazed by the storm surrounding his personal life. His demeanor appeared cheerful, masking the turbulence in his marriage.
Govinda and Sunita Ahujha Divorce
According to a report by Hauterrfly, Sunita Ahuja has filed a divorce petition against Govinda in Bandra Family Court, citing adultery, cruelty, and desertion under the Hindu Marriage Act of 1955. The petition, filed in December 2024, claims that Govinda has repeatedly skipped hearings and even failed to attend court-mandated counselling sessions. Sunita, however, has been present at every hearing.
In recent interviews, Sunita expressed her frustration not just with Govinda but also with the circle of people he surrounds himself with. In a conversation with The Powerful Humans, she shared:
“Today he has four people – a writer, a musician, a secretary, and a lawyer friend. They are of no use. They only say, ‘wah, wah!’ If he makes music, they say, ‘wah, wah… kamaal kar diya.’ They should tell him the truth. When I tell him the truth, he gets upset.”
Govinda and Sunita, married since 1987, have been one of Bollywood’s most enduring couples. The divorce proceedings, coupled with resurfaced interviews, continue to keep them in the spotlight.
In her recent vlog, Sunita Ahuja was seen addressing the divorce rumours surrounding her marriage. In the vlog, she was seen visiting a temple where, while speaking to the priest, she said that she has been visiting Mahalaxmi Mandir since her childhood.
She further broke down in tears and said, “Main jab Govinda se mili tab maine maata se wahi maanga ke meri shaadi usse ho jaaye aur jeevan acche se jaaye. Maata ne sab mannat poori kiya. Bacche bhi de diye dono. Par har sach milna aasan nahi hota, unch-neech ho jaata hai. Par main maata pe itna vishwas karti hoon ke aaj main agar kuch dekh bhi rahi hoon, toh main jaanti hoon jo mera ghar todne ki koshish karega, usko toh woh baithi hai Maa Kaali.” (When I met Govinda, I prayed to the Goddess that I should get married to him and have a good life. The Goddess fulfilled all my wishes—she even blessed me with two children. But not every truth in life is easy; there are always ups and downs.
