RMG exports from Bangladesh grow 6% in Q1 2026-27



Ready-made garment (RMG) exports (Chapters ** and **) from Bangladesh grew *.** per cent to $**.*** billion during July-September ****, according to provisional data from the country’s Export Promotion Bureau (EPB). Bangladesh’s exports grew *.** per cent year on year in September, but shipments slipped **.** per cent in September **** compared with August ****.

Knitted garment exports witnessed a sharper increase compared with woven garment exports year on year during the period. Knitwear exports (Chapter **) increased by *.** per cent to $*.*** billion, compared with $*.*** billion in the same period of fiscal ****–**. Woven apparel exports (Chapter **) inched up *.** per cent to $*.*** billion, up from $*.*** billion, EPB data showed.

Home textile exports (Chapter **, excluding ******) showed an increase, gaining **.** per cent to $***.** million from $***.** million in July-September ****. Taken together, exports of woven and knitted apparel, clothing accessories, and home textiles accounted for **.** per cent of Bangladesh’s total exports, which stood at $**.*** billion during the first quarter of the current fiscal ****–** (July-June).
