The ministry said it has received several requests for help from Indian citizens stranded in Nepal while undertaking the pilgrimage through private tour operators without the required entry permit and visas for China.

In an advisory issued on June 27, the ministry said it has received several requests for help and assistance from Indian citizens stranded in Nepal while undertaking the Kailash Manasarovar Yatra through tours organised by private tour operators without the required entry permit and visas for China.
The MEA advised citizens not to begin their journey from India until all the required travel documents for the complete journey have been obtained.
“Commencing travel without confirmed documentation or in anticipation of obtaining the necessary documentation increases the likelihood of being stranded,” the ministry said.
The ministry also strongly advised pilgrims to verify that their tour operator is duly registered and authorised before undertaking the yatra.
