Flipkart-backed super.money launches new feature to book flights via UPI

super.money, a UPI-first payments platform backed by the Flipkart Group, has launched a new flight booking feature to expand the scope of digital payments beyond daily transactions.

The new service, called FLIGHTS, allows users to book domestic air tickets through a partnership with Cleartrip. Users paying via UPI on super.money can get an additional 5% benefit on top of existing offers.

The company says the aim is to help users earn rewards on larger spends without relying on credit cards. This aligns with a shift among younger customers, especially Gen Z, who prefer UPI and debit cards over credit-based payments.
Cleartrip data shows Gen Z makes 10% more UPI transactions than other age groups. Many prefer debt-free payment modes for both daily needs and big-ticket spending.

“With FLIGHTS, we want UPI to cover larger spending categories too,” said Prakash Sikaria, Founder & CEO of super.money. “Our goal is to help users earn more value from payments without adding debt.”

Manjari Singhal, Chief Business and Growth Officer at Cleartrip, said more travellers are choosing UPI for ease and speed.

India’s UPI ecosystem now accounts for about 85% of the country’s digital transactions, according to the IMF. By adding rewards to high-value payments like travel, super.money wants to bridge the gap between UPI and credit cards.

super.money is part of the Flipkart Group’s broader push to grow in digital payments. The platform already offers instant cashback on UPI transactions and plans to expand rewards into other spending areas too.
