Pushpam Priya Choudhary, the Plurals Party leader who once vowed to keep wearing a mask until she won in Bihar, has suffered a heavy defeat in the Darbhanga Assembly seat in the 2025 Bihar elections.

Despite her high-profile campaign, Pushpam Priya secured only 1,403 votes, placing her far behind the winner, BJP’s Sanjay Saraogi, who clinched the seat with 97,453 votes. She lost by a massive margin of 96,050 votes, one of the widest gaps recorded in the constituency this election.

Darbhanga has remained a stronghold for Saraogi, who had also won the seat in 2020, and the latest results further cement his dominance. Pushpam Priya’s performance marks another disappointing chapter for the Plurals Party, which continues to struggle for electoral relevance in Bihar.

Notably, the Plurals Party is contesting all 243 seats in the state under the ‘whistle’ symbol. Always seen in black attire and a mask, she has vowed to remove her mask only after winning an election.
