Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday said the “resounding” mandate delivered by the people of Bihar is a “seal of approval on the NDA’s committed service to development in Bihar”.
He made the remarks in a social media post as the BJP-led NDA registered strong leads in more than 200 of the state’s 243 assembly seats, with trends indicating the alliance was on track for its biggest tally yet. The NDA crossed the 200 mark, with the BJP ahead in 95 seats, the JDU in 84 and the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) in 20.
Shah also offered “a million salutes” to the “people of Bihar Bhumi”, calling them “protectors of knowledge, hard work and democracy”.
The senior BJP leader added that the NDA’s victory is the victory of every Bihari who believes in a developed Bihar.

“In the last 11 years, Modi ji has worked with an open heart for Bihar — for women’s safety, good governance and the welfare of the poor — and Nitish ji has taken Bihar out of the darkness of jungle raj. This public mandate is for the resolve of ‘Developed Bihar’,” he said in a post on X.
‘Politics of Performance’
“This is the victory of every Bihari who believes in ‘Developed Bihar’. No matter what guise those who practice jungle raj and appeasement politics adopt, they will not get the opportunity to loot. The public now gives its mandate solely and exclusively on the basis of the ‘politics of performance’” he further added.
Amit Shah went on to congratulate Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and all NDA leaders and workers, while also saluting BJP workers in Bihar — from the booth level to the state level — for their tireless effort in securing the mandate.
He assured the people of Bihar, especially women, that the NDA will honour the trust placed in it and, under Modi’s leadership, will work with even greater dedication to fulfil their expectations.
