Hours after a now-deleted “fake” video linking Manoj Bajpayee to the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) surfaced online, the Bollywood actor on Thursday night clarified that he has “no association” with any political party. BJP wasted no time in criticising the Bihar’s Opposition party, terming it “Rashtriya Joota Dal” and stating that the RJD and Congress are resorting to using fake AI videos to mislead, misinform and cheat people ahead of the upcoming polls in Bihar.
The 243-member Bihar Assembly will go to polls in two phases, on November 6 and November 11. The counting will take place on November 14.
Slamming the allies of the Mahagathbandhan, BJP spokesperson CR Kesavan said, “While PM Narendra Modi ji ensures a $15 billion AI hub for New India, RJD and Congress resort to using fake AI videos to mislead, misinform and cheat people.”
He further added that earlier, another actor, Kay Kay Menon, had called out a fake Congress AI video to hoodwink people and now Manoj Bajpayee has called out Tejashwi Yadav’s lies.
“The people of Bihar will never trust this dubious unscrupulous duo whose only motive is to further their family interest,” the BJP leader added.
Adding to the criticism of RJD, BJP leader Pradeep Bhandari said, “Shame on RJD ecosystem for circulating fake video of Actor Manoj Bajpayee for its campaign in Bihar! ‘Rashtriya Jhoota Dal’ knows it is losing Bihar, this is why it is using fake, edited videos in its campaign! Fake News, & Corruption, JungleRaj unites Congress and RJD!”
Manoj Bajpayee Clarified Viral Video
Bajpayee’s clarification came after a parody account named after Tejashwi Yadav posted a video of the actor endorsing RJD ahead of the Bihar polls.
“I would like to publicly state that I have no association or allegiance with any political party. The video being circulated is a fake, patched-up edit of an ad I did for Prime Video,” the actor posted on X.
He further sincerely appealed to everyone to stop sharing distorted content and urged people not to engage such misleading content.
