BJP MLA Shankar Singh Rawat, renowned for winning the Beawar assembly constituency four times, faces serious allegations from the Congress party. The controversy centres around his daughter, Kanchan Rawat, and daughter-in-law, Sunita, accused of fraudulently obtaining government jobs.

Evidence has emerged, prompting the Congress to challenge Rawat and the Bhajan Lal Sharma government, resulting in a political uproar in Rajasthan. The Congress demands transparency from the state government, and the matter is currently under investigation.

Shankar Singh Rawat, a resident of Kishanpura village in Beawar district, gained political recognition through his campaign to establish Beawar as a separate district, formerly part of Ajmer.

His prominence soared when he led a march from Beawar to Jaipur demanding district status, eventually achieving success. Rawat became an influential political figure, winning the MLA seat four consecutive times, and Beawar was subsequently designated a separate district.

MLA Rawat Faces Controversy Over Daughter-in-Law’s Job Appointment

Shankar Singh Rawat’s credibility is now at risk due to allegations concerning his daughter and daughter-in-law. Rawat has four children: three sons and a daughter. His eldest son, Gopal Singh Rawat, a government teacher, reportedly secured his wife Sunita’s government teaching position through the divorcee quota under fraudulent pretences.

It is alleged that their divorce is merely on paper, as the couple continues to live together with their children. This deception is believed to have facilitated Sunita’s employment.

Daughter Kanchan Rawat Serves As Naib Tehsildar In Bhilwara

In another instance, Shankar Singh Rawat’s daughter, Kanchan Rawat, currently serving as a Naib Tehsildar in Bhilwara, allegedly obtained her government job through the disabled quota due to her hearing impairment.

Recent scandals involving fake certificates in government jobs have cast doubt on the authenticity of Kanchan Rawat’s disability certificate, prompting an ongoing investigation.

Rawat Seen As Close To Former CM Vasundhara Raje’s Camp

MLA Shankar Singh Rawat’s wife is a homemaker, while Singh’s long political career has earned him significant influence in the region.
