Modern Family’s Cameron Tucker, played by Eric Stonestreet, tied the knot with Lindsay Schweitzer in a cozy, intimate wedding that felt straight out of a storybook. The couple chose a low-key celebration surrounded by close friends and family, making the day all about them. Eric played the role of Cam in Modern Family, the over-the-top, cute and big-hearted dad to Lily.
Eric Stonestreet and Lindsay Schweitzer said “I do” on September 8, a rep confirmed to PEOPLE. The date had a sweet little twist too as it landed right between their birthdays. Sharing the happy news on Instagram the next day, Stonestreet added his signature playful touch, “It’s my birthday and guess what I got,” he joked alongside snapshots from their wedding.
In the wedding snaps, 54-year-old Eric looked sharp in a fitted navy blazer paired with a blue tie, while Lindsay absolutely shone in a satin gown, complete with a sparkling crystal belt. The couple tied the knot at their dream home in Kansas City, Missouri, and even had a sweet first dance to the tunes of a small band strumming acoustic guitars.
And naturally, the love from their friends was overflowing! Stonestreet’s Modern Family co-star (and on-screen hubby) Jesse Tyler Ferguson cracked a joke, writing, “Of all second marriages, this one is my favourite! I love you both! I’m so happy for you!!!!” His husband Justin Mikita chimed in with a simple, sweet “Congrats!” while Oscar-winning actress Octavia Spencer gushed, “Congratulations! So happy for you both.”
The wedding was just as cozy and personal as Stonestreet had hinted earlier this year. Back in July, he told PEOPLE, “Well, I’ve said we’re building a house to host a wedding, and we’re still on track to do that. We’re almost done with the house, and that’s been our plan all along.” He also opened up about how their 2021 engagement naturally led to building a home together: “We got engaged and then all of a sudden got an opportunity to build a house, and I thought, no better way to start a relationship than literally building a foundation. So that’s our plan and we’re still on track for that.”
