Pakistan secured their berth in the final of the T20I tri-series at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Thursday as Fakhar Zaman’s 77-run knock and Abrar Ahmed’s four-fer helped Pakistan to a 31-run win over the United Arab Emirates.

Pakistan’s victory, their third in four games, secured their spot in Sunday’s final while also guaranteeing Afghanistan’s advancement, who play the hosts in the last group match on Friday.
UAE’s power-hitter Muhammad Waseem was dismissed for 19, and Asif Khan for seven, as UAE faced their third consecutive defeat.
Abrar’s previous best bowling figures of 3-19 were achieved against Bangladesh in Lahore earlier this year.
Earlier, Pakistan, having won the toss and chosen to bat, lost five wickets for just 80 runs in 11.3 overs. Openers Saim Ayub scored 11, and Sahibzada Farhan made 16. Skipper Salman Agha contributed seven, Mohammad Haris 14, and Hasan Nawaz four.

Zaman and Nawaz then added 91 runs off 51 balls for the sixth wicket to revive the innings.
This was Zaman’s first half-century in 14 innings since his match against Ireland in Dublin in May last year. His innings included two sixes and ten fours, while Nawaz hit two sixes and three fours.
Their fierce late attack yielded 74 runs in the last five overs and 42 in the last two. Nawaz struck three fours and a six in Junaid Siddique’s penultimate over, while Zaman hit five consecutive boundaries off Muhammad Jawadullah’s last over.
Spinner Haider Ali was the most successful bowler for the home side with figures of 2-17.
