Bangladesh’s ready-made garment (RMG) exports to the United Kingdom (UK) rose 3.74 per cent year on year to $915.63 million in July-August of fiscal 2026-27, with stronger August shipments pushing exports back into growth, according to Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) data.
For apparel manufacturers and sourcing teams supplying the UK market, the early fiscal-year performance compares with RMG exports of $882.62 million in July-August of fiscal 2025-26, the data showed.
Bangladesh’s RMG exports to the UK rose 3.74 per cent year on year to $915.63 million in July-August FY2026-27, supported by a 10.53 per cent increase in August that offset a 2.44 per cent decline in July.
The two-month earnings were 20.86 per cent of full-year FY2025-26 UK RMG export earnings of $4.39 billion, indicating a stronger start to the new fiscal year.
The two-month earnings represent 20.86 per cent of the $4,388.55 million Bangladesh earned from RMG exports to the UK during the full fiscal 2025-26, according to local media reports citing EPB data compiled by trade research platform Bangladesh Apparel Voice.
Average monthly RMG exports to the UK stood at $457.82 million during the first two months of fiscal 2026-27, above the $365.71 million monthly average recorded during the full fiscal 2025-26.
Growth, however, was uneven across the two months. August exports rose 10.53 per cent year on year, more than offsetting a 2.44 per cent decline recorded in July.
