US apparel imports fell 7.8 per cent to $36.90 billion in H1 2026, while Cambodia, Indonesia and Vietnam gained and China and India retreated sharply.
New Section 301 duties put Vietnam and China in a 12.5 per cent group, above the 10 per cent rate for Cambodia, India, Indonesia and others.
Qualifying CAFTA-DR and USMCA goods are exempt; August and September data will offer a cleaner test.
