UK apparel imports reached $8.16 billion in January-May 2026, up 1.7 per cent, with Bangladesh at $1.94 billion and China at $1.70 billion.
Bangladesh’s lead widened to $242.1 million from $34.6 million a year earlier, while Vietnam and Cambodia also rose.
The UK rejected a simplified tariff schedule and confirmed a low-value import fee, making origin and classification more important.
