
Woven garment exports witnessed limited decline compared to knitted garment exports during the last fiscal. Home textile exports (Chapter **, excluding ******) showed an increase, gaining by *.** per cent to $***.** million from $***.** million, in the fiscal ****–**. Taken together, exports of woven and knitted apparel, clothing accessories, and home textiles accounted for **.** per cent of Bangladesh’s total exports, which stood at $**.*** billion during this period.
Exports of cotton and cotton products, including yarn, waste, and fabrics (Chapter **), fell by *.** per cent to $***.** million during the period, compared with $***.** million in the same period of the previous fiscal.
In June ****, RMG exports totalled $*.*** billion, registering **.** per cent increase from $*.*** billion in the corresponding month, of the previous year. Knitwear exports surged by **.** per cent to $*.*** billion, while woven garment exports eased by **.** per cent to $*.*** billion. Shipments of home textiles (Chapter **, excluding ******) increased by **.** per cent to $**.** million. Exports of cotton and cotton products also gained, increased **.** per cent to $**.** million from $**.** million, a year earlier.
