Google is offering free support for limited units that should not have visible damages or a cracked display
Pixel 9 pro or the 9 Pro Fold is getting this free support globally
Google Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro Fold users have been worried about the quality of the phone’s display with some even seeing their units face display issues. The company is finally going to offer them some relief in the form of free repairs or even a replacement if the solution is not available.
The new extended support is available for the Pixel 9 Pro, 9 Pro XL and even the 9 Pro Fold model that have been riddled with manufacture-linked functionality issues which could be display, or other hardware issues. This is a global initiative so people in India using any of these devices and facing such problems can seek out help from the company.
Google’s Pixel 9 Pro Support: What You Should Know
Google’s extended support means you get the Pixel 9 Pro, 9 Pro XL or the 9 Pro Fold issues addressed for three years from the date you purchased the device. It is available as a free of cost service but the company is only admitting units that either have the vertical line issue on the display or facing the flickering display problem.
The support is similar to OnePlus tackling the green line display issue with a lifetime screen replacement support, something a wide range of phones have been facing over the last few years. Google has been silent on the issue all this while but the official support ensures that at least the Pixel 9 Pro users are taken care of in the right way.
This is a good move from the company, and a much needed one for their premium 2023 flagship devices that cost quite a bit for these buyers.
Most brands have been able to identify the reason for these screen issues and we are hopeful that Google will also make it work, and before that give assurance to buyers their devices will be ably supported.
However, Google says that the support is available for limited units, and you need to make sure the device has not been damaged (cracked display) or any liquid has seeped into the unit. The company recommends people to either visit the Google support centre or even apply for the offer online. The replacement unit will come with a 90 day warranty as well.
