Stranger Things star David Harbour has reportedly been accused of harassment and bullying by his co-star Millie Bobby Brown, according to reports from Radar Online and Daily Mail. The allegations come just weeks before the first part of Stranger Things Season 5 premieres on Netflix.
As per Daily Mail, the 21-year-old actress filed a “harassment and bullying claim” before filming began for the final season. The report mentioned that the complaint included “pages and pages of accusations,” prompting an internal investigation by the production. It also noted that Brown’s personal representative was present on set during filming for her safety and comfort.
Harbour, 50, reportedly faced internal questioning in light of the allegations. Netflix has not issued an official statement yet, and representatives for both actors have declined to comment.
David Harbour’s Old Remarks Resurface Amid Controversy
Amid the unfolding controversy, Harbour’s past comments about Millie Bobby Brown have resurfaced on social media. In a 2021 interview on That Scene with Dan Patrick podcast, the actor spoke warmly about his bond with Brown, describing it as a unique connection that developed from their early days on set.
“Millie and I have always had sort of a special relationship because I knew her when she was so young,” Harbour said at the time. “I knew her before any of this big fame hit. I have a real protective feeling for her. I have a real, like, worry.”
He further added, “I worry about her and the fame and all that she has to struggle with. And I’ve just always felt this kind of deep fatherly affection for her.”
No Allegations of Sexual Impropriety Reported
Harbour and Brown portray a father-daughter dynamic on-screen, with Jim Hopper taking Eleven in during the early seasons of the Duffer brothers’ acclaimed series. Daily Mail has clarified that Brown’s current allegations do not include claims of sexual misconduct.
Stranger Things Season 5 Part 1 is slated for release on November 26, followed by Part 2 on December 25. The final season marks the end of the global Netflix phenomenon that began in 2016 and launched Brown into superstardom.
