Director Aditya Sarpotdar has dismissed rumours of Pratibha Ranta replacing Sharvari in Maha Munjya, confirming that the latter remains an integral part of the MHCU franchise.
Pratibha Ranta is not a part of MHCU franchise.
The Maddock Horror Comedy Universe is one of the most important and loved franchises currently, and every report about who has been cast in the upcoming films keeps the audience hooked. Recently, a report claimed that Pratibha Ranta will replace Sharvari in Maha Munjya, but how true are these reports? In an exclusive interview with News18 Showsha, Aditya Sarpotdar, the director of Munjya and Thamma, rubbished all such reports, saying, “Sharvari is an integral part of the Munjya team.”
While speaking with us, when asked if Pratibha Ranta is on board for any of MHCU’s films, Aditya shared, “Yaar, I don’t know where this Pratibha story came from. I’m sure it’s just another rumour because vo definitely nahi hai, that’s not how it is.”
“We know that the core team of Munjya, Sharvari and Abhay Verma are already in the next film. I read an article saying Pratibha has replaced Sharvari in Munjya 2, but that’s just not possible because Sharvari is an integral part of the Munjya family. Now, as for which new actors join in later, that announcement will happen at the right time,” the director added.

The fourth film of the Maddock Supernatural Universe, Munjya, created havoc at the box office. The film is directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and stars Abhay Verma, Mona Singh, Sharvari, and S. Sathyaraj in the lead roles. The film centres on the legend of Munjya, which is inspired by Indian folklore and mythology.
According to Niren Bhatt, the screenwriter of the film, Munjya is perceived as a creature that is both monstrous and childlike due to dying at a young age. Munjya tends to trouble people to fulfil its desires, often fixating on marriage. Munjyas have a peculiar fondness for throwing stones at individuals standing beneath trees. They are mischievous and harmless when compared with other spirits in the world.
