In a shocking turn of events, Marathi actor Sachin Chandwade, known for his role in Jamtara: Season 2, died by suicide. He was 25. He allegedly hanged himself from the ceiling fan in a room on the upper floor of his home in Undirkhede village, located in Jalgaon district’s Parola taluka, on October 23rd. He was immediately rushed to the hospital. He passed away on October 24 around 1:30 AM while undergoing treatment. The actor, who was seen in Jamtara: Season 2, was gearing up for the release of his film Asurvan.

Who Was Sachin Chandwade? 

Sachin Ganesh Chandwade was a 25-year-old Marathi actor hailing from Jalgaon, Maharashtra. He was both, an actor and a software engineer. While pursuing his dream of acting, he also worked at an IT Park in Pune. He played the role of Pintu in the Netflix series Jamtara season 2, starring Amit Sial, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Sparsh Srivastav and others. It was released in September 2022.

He was also seen in the 2022 Marathi short film ‘Vishay Close’ which had been selected for the International Cultural Artefact Film Festival. He had been gearing up for the release of his upcoming Marathi film ‘Asurvan’, which he had announced on social media just a week before his death. He was set to play the role of ‘Soma’ in the film directed and written by Sachin Ramchandra Aambat and produced by Swapna Swaroop.

Sachin Chandwade’s Death

As per a report in Maharashtra Times, Sachin Chandwade’s family members found him hanging from a ceiling fan on October 23. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital close to his village. The report states that as his condition deteriorated, he was taken to Dhule for further treatment. Despite efforts by doctors, Sachin unfortunately passed away on October 24 around 1:30 AM while undergoing treatment. The reason behind his suicide is not known. After his untimely death, the Parola police registered a case of ‘accidental death.’

Sachin’s colleagues were shocked to find out about his death. Asurvan director Sachin Ramchandra mourned his demise. He took to his Instagram stories and expressed his grief. “Soma, what you did was very wrong,” he wrote in Marathi. His co-actor Pooja Moily also re-shared the news of his demise and added heartbreak emoji.
