The wait is over for fans of Maharani, one of India’s most gripping political drama series. Starring Huma Qureshi as the fiery and determined Rani Bharti, the series is all set to return with its highly anticipated fourth season, premiering on SonyLIV from November 7, 2025.

After three successful seasons that captured the complex intersections of politics, power, and patriarchy, Maharani 4 promises to raise the stakes like never before, taking Rani’s story from Bihar’s corridors of power to the national stage.

The Return of the Lioness

The makers unveiled the official trailer of Maharani Season 4 on October 9, announcing the show’s streaming date. Sharing the video on X (formerly Twitter), the platform wrote, “The lioness returns to defend her home! Rani gears up for her biggest battle yet. #Maharani4 streaming from November 7 only on SonyLIV.”

Continuing its legacy of exploring the brutal realities of Indian politics, the upcoming season delves into themes of corruption, ambition, and survival, while portraying the evolution of a woman who defied all odds. The show, inspired by real-life political events in Bihar during the 1990s, offers a sharp commentary on gender and governance through Rani Bharti’s journey.

From Homemaker to Political Powerhouse

In Maharani, Rani Bharti begins as a simple housewife whose only concerns are her home and husband, Bihar’s Chief Minister, Bheema. However, when her husband abruptly resigns, she is thrust into the volatile world of politics. What follows is a riveting saga of transformation as Rani learns to wield power in a system designed to silence her.

Huma Qureshi on Rani Bharti’s Evolution

Reflecting on her role, Huma Qureshi described Maharani 4 as Rani’s most daring chapter yet, “Rani Bharti’s journey has always been about defying the odds, but this season, her ambition hits a whole new level. From homemaker to CM, she shook Bihar’s political ground. Now, she enters the nation’s toughest battlefield.”

The actress further added, “Maharani 4 isn’t just the next chapter; it’s her boldest leap yet. The stakes are national, the power games more brutal, and every move could make or break her. It’s the most daring, intense, and unfiltered version of Rani we’ve ever seen, and I can’t wait for audiences to witness her evolution on SonyLIV.”

Cast and Crew

The ensemble cast of Maharani 4 includes Sohum Shah as Bihar’s Chief Minister, Kani Kusruti as Kaveri Sridharan, Amit Sial as Navin Kumar (a character loosely inspired by Nitish Kumar), and Vineet Kumar as Gauri Shankar Pandey.

Directed by Puneet Prakash, and produced by Kangra Talkies Pvt. Ltd, the political series is created by Subhash Kapoor, the mastermind behind its layered storytelling.

With Maharani 4, viewers can expect a fierce blend of political tension, emotional depth, and raw power dynamics — all anchored by Huma Qureshi’s powerhouse performance.
