Joe Jonas is putting rumours to rest after a video of him backstage during a Jonas Brothers concert went viral. In the clip, the 36-year-old singer is seen rubbing his nose with his hands and a black cloth, checking his reflection in a mirror, and trying to clean it. Fans quickly jumped to conclusions, suggesting he might have been using cocaine during the JONAS20: Greetings From Your Hometown tour. Now, Joe has broken his silence, addressing the speculation head-on and sharing his side of the story in his usual candid style.
In a recent interview with Esquire, Jonas dismissed the claims outright, saying he has never used cocaine. “I’ve never touched cocaine in my life. But if I did, I think I’d be a little slicker about it than doing it onstage,” he said, referring to the viral clip from the JONAS20: Greetings From Your Hometown tour.
The singer had previously taken a lighthearted jab at the rumours online. When one fan reposted the video, Jonas commented, “Lol you never had a booger?” — brushing off the controversy with humour.
During the same conversation, Jonas also discussed life after his separation from actor Sophie Turner. The singer revealed that his packed tour schedule has left little time for romance. “Five shows in a row doesn’t make it easy to meet someone for coffee,” he said, adding that while he isn’t on dating apps, he occasionally connects with people through Instagram and TikTok.
Jonas, who describes himself as “extremely online,” admitted that being active on social media often exposes him to the chatter around his personal life.
Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner married in a surprise Las Vegas ceremony on May 1, 2019. The couple share two daughters — Willa, born in 2020, and Delphine, born in 2022. Their divorce was finalised in September 2024 after months of media speculation.
The Jonas Brothers are currently touring globally as part of their JONAS20 anniversary celebrations.
