Filmmaker Karan Johar celebrated Diwali 2025, sharing a heartfelt family photo on Instagram. The picture has Karan with his twins, Yash and Roohi, beaming with joy and wearing Manish Malhotra-designed ethnic attire.
“Happy Diwali to one and all…. May the year be full of light, love and laughter…. From mine to yours … have a happy festive season!!!! Every year we all wear @manishmalhotra05 for the Diwali Pooja,” Karan captioned the festive post.
Yash and Roohi Steal the Spotlight
This year’s festive snapshot highlights Yash and Roohi as the stars of the moment. The young duo appears in joyful spirits, complementing their father’s signature cheerfulness. In the images, Karan can be seen posing with his children, all dressed up in ethnic attire. The first slide even features Roohi holding their pet dog.
In another slide, the children are seen kissing their father and embracing him. The brother and sister also posed separately for a few images.
During last year’s Diwali, Karan posted a picture with his mother, Hiroo Johar and his children as well. “From us to you … we wish you the best festive season and all the love, joy, mutual respect, and the ability to love and live your life to its fullest,” he wrote at the time.
Karan’s fans instantly flocked to the comment section to wish him and his family a happy Diwali. Online users praised the children’s outfits, the father-kids chemistry, and the festive mood.
“Happy Diwali to you and your beautiful kids,” one user wrote.
“Happy Diwali Aunty Hiroo, Karan, Roohi & Yash,” a second comment read.
“Happy Diwali, they are so grown up already,” another user said.
Another said, “Happy Diwali to you guys. Have a lovely one, big love to the kids!”
Parenthood
Karan Johar is a single father of twins, Yash and Roohi, who were born via surrogacy in 2017. He named his daughter Roohi, an anagram of his mother Hiroo’s name, and his son Yash after his father.
In February, Karan posted a bunch of photos of his children on Instagram as a birthday post for his children, along with a beautiful message. He wrote: “My biggest achievement is one of being a Father…. I named them after my parents because I felt beyond a lineage or a name, an emotion must continue … they are my world!!!”
They all chose to wear casual attire for the pictures. Karan was dressed in a black sweater, matching trousers, and white trainers. Yash was dressed in a red outfit, while Roohi was dressed in blue. They all smiled and laughed while making various facial expressions for the camera.
