Rashmika Mandanna, who is currently promoting her upcoming film Thamma, has broken her silence on the persistent rumours of being banned from Kannada cinema. The actress, who has often faced online scrutiny, said that people know very little about what truly happens behind the scenes.

Rashmika addresses claims of facing a ban

In a recent interaction with Good News Kannada, Rashmika was asked if she had watched Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: Chapter 1 and whether she had shared any feedback with the team.

Responding to the question, she said, “See, the thing is… I didn’t see the film in the first 2–3 days since its release. I didn’t see it right then, but I recently watched it and even texted the team. They even replied with a ‘Thank you’ response too.”

She further added, “See, the world doesn’t know what is happening on the inside. Inside, god knows we can’t always put a camera on our personal lives. Also, we aren’t those people who share our messages online. So, what people say about a person’s life doesn’t matter. Now, what they say about our professional life, we’ll consider it and work on it.”

When asked directly whether she has been banned by Kannada producers, Rashmika smiled and clarified, “So far, I have not been banned. So, yeah…”

The actress emphasised that public perception should never dictate how an artist lives or works. “One cannot live according to others’ opinions,” she said, reinforcing that criticism often arises from misunderstanding or incomplete knowledge.

Rashmika’s personal and professional high

The actress has also been in the news for her engagement to long-time boyfriend Vijay Deverakonda. While neither has commented publicly, Vijay’s team confirmed that the couple plans to marry in February 2026.

On the work front, Rashmika is gearing up for Thamma, a romantic horror comedy co-starring Ayushmann Khurrana. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, the film marks the fifth entry in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU). The ensemble cast includes Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Paresh Rawal, Sathyaraj, and Faisal Malik, with cameos by Varun Dhawan, Nora Fatehi, and Malaika Arora.
