Actor Vijay Deverakonda escaped unhurt after his car was hit from behind on the Hyderabad-Bengaluru Highway in Telangana’s Jogulamba Gadwal district earlier today. The incident occurred while the Liger star was travelling from Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh, to Hyderabad in his Lexus LM350h. The rear of his car was reportedly damaged in the collision.
According to reports, the other vehicle involved in the accident continued towards Hyderabad without stopping. Deverakonda’s driver has filed a police complaint, and an investigation into the hit-and-run case is currently underway.
Actor Was Returning After Visit To Puttaparthi
Just a day earlier, Vijay Deverakonda had visited the Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s Prasanthi Nilayam Ashram in Puttaparthi with his family. His trip came shortly after reports surfaced of his private engagement with actor Rashmika Mandanna on October 3, attended only by close friends and family members.
Fans had also noticed a ring on Vijay’s finger during his visit, sparking more speculation about the couple’s relationship. Sources have claimed that Vijay and Rashmika plan to tie the knot in February 2026, though neither has officially confirmed the engagement.
Police Begin Investigation, Videos Go Viral
Several videos showing the damaged car have been circulating on social media, though their authenticity remains unverified. Police have confirmed that Vijay Deverakonda switched to a friend’s car after the accident and safely reached Hyderabad.
