Ira Khan Calls Janhvi Kapoor And Varun Dhawan’s Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari ‘Fun’ Film

Aamir Khan’s daughter, Ira Khan, recently praised Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Dhawan’s much-talked-about romantic comedy Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari on social media. Ira called the film “fun,” praising the lead pair’s chemistry and the film’s light-hearted storytelling.

Taking to her Instagram stories, Ira Khan shared the film poster and wrote, “We laughed so much What fun!!!” Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Dhawan both reacted and reshared her response on social media. The film, which clashed with Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1, also stars Sanya Malhotra and Rohit Saraf in the lead role.

Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari Box Office Day 5

Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari saw a sharp decline on Monday, collecting only Rs 3 crore net at the Indian box office. The Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor romantic comedy dropped over 67% compared to its opening day earnings of Rs 9.25 crore. What’s even more concerning is that this figure came despite a Buy-One-Get-One ticket offer, which typically helps sustain collections post-weekend. Without it, trade experts believe the film’s performance could have dipped further. The film’s five-day total now stands at Rs 33.75 crore, with little sign of recovery.

The film had a slow weekend, failing to gain momentum even on Saturday and Sunday, when family audiences usually drive growth. While the absence of major releases gives it a free run for the next week, its competition remains Kantara: Chapter 1, which continues to attract a loyal audience. With the current trajectory, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari is expected to wrap up its first week around Rs 37–39 crore, with lifetime earnings likely capping at Rs 50 crore in India. Analysts suggest the film’s lack of emotional depth and an inconsistent screenplay contributed to its lukewarm word-of-mouth.

About The Film

Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari follows Sunny (Varun Dhawan), whose heart breaks when his girlfriend Ananya (Sanya Malhotra) gives in to family pressure and marries the wealthy Vikram (Rohit Saraf). Meanwhile, Vikram abandons Tulsi (Janhvi Kapoor), leaving her heartbroken too. The two jilted lovers join forces to crash the wedding of their exes, but amid the chaos, they find an unexpected connection. With playful banter, vibrant music, and colourful wedding sequences, the film tries to blend nostalgia with modern love dilemmas. However, its predictable narrative and mixed audience reactions have dampened its long-term prospects.
