Doddahatti Boregowda won Best Film at Karnataka State Film Awards 2021. Rakshit Shetty, Archana Jois, Pramod, Umashree, and others received top honours in Kannada cinema.

The Karnataka State Film Awards 2021 celebrated the best of Kannada cinema, with the winners officially announced on Friday. The awards recognised outstanding performances, direction, writing, and technical excellence across a diverse slate of films.
Top Film Awards
Doddahatti Boregowda, directed by Raghu KM, was named Best Film. Following closely, the heartwarming adventure 777 Charlie received the Second Best Film award, while Bisilu Kudire was honoured as the Third Best Film. Yuvarathnaa was recognised as the Best Popular Film, and the children’s film Cake, directed by Kishore Moodbidri, received the Best Children’s Film award.
Acting Honours
In the performance categories, Rakshit Shetty won Best Actor for his role in 777 Charlie, and Archana Jois, known for her role in KGF, was awarded Best Actress for Mute. Supporting accolades went to Pramod for Best Supporting Actor and Umashree for Best Supporting Actress, both recognised for their contributions to Rathnan Prapancha.

Writing and Direction
In the writing categories, Manjunath Muniyappa won Best Story for Ombatthu Sullu Kathegalu, while Raghu KM was awarded Best Screenplay for Doddahatti Boregowda. Baraguru Ramachandrappa received Best Dialogue for Thayi Kastur Gandhi.
Prakash Cariappa earned the Best Director award for the regional film Nada Peda Asha, which also won the Best Regional Film honour. Shankar H, making his debut, was named Best Debut Director for Badava Rascal.
Technical and Special Awards
The awards also highlighted technical excellence:
Best Cinematography: Bhuvanesh Prabhu (Amme Samsara – Konkani)
Best Music Director: Imtiaz Sultan (Bisilu Kudure)
Best Editing: Prateek Shetty (777 Charlie)
Best Art Director: Ravi S (Bhajarangi 2)
Best Costume Designer: Yogi G Raj (Bhajarangi 2)
Best Makeup: Shivakumar (Thayi Kastur Gandhi)
Young talents were celebrated as well, with Master Athish Shetty winning Best Child Actor (Cake) and Baby Bhairavi receiving Best Child Actress recognition. The awards for music included Best Lyricist to Nagarjun Sharma (777 Charlie), Best Male Playback Singer to Aneesh Keshava Rao (Sri Jagannatha Dasaru), and Best Female Playback Singer to Sahana M Bharadwaj (Dandi).
A Special Jury Award was also presented to Bhairavi for her exceptional contribution.
