Before the spotlight, the red carpets and the national awards, there was a young man who worked as an office boy in Mumbai.

You won’t believe it when we say that he even drove a producer’s car for a living. On most evenings, he would spend time on a roadside corner, eating vada pav and quietly dreaming about cinema.

That man today is one of the biggest names in the Indian film industry, and his story sounds nothing less than a movie itself.

Curious to know who the man is? Well, it is none other than Kannada actor and filmmaker Rishab Shetty, the brilliant talent behind the blockbuster Kantara.

Rishab Shetty began his acting journey in 2012 with Tuglak, where he played a negative role. Soon, he was noticed in films like Lucia and Ulidavaru Kandanthe, but he had bigger dreams.

But the real turning point came in 2022 with Kantara. The film was not just a hit—it became a cultural phenomenon, taking Kannada cinema to a global stage.

The movie fetched Rishab the National Award for Best Actor and cemented his place as one of the most skilled artists in the film industry.

After Kantara’s success, expectations were sky-high. Making sure that fans are not disappointed, Rishab Shetty returned with Kantara: Chapter 1, a prequel that explores the origins of the mythology.

With Kantara: Chapter 1, Rishabh has once again brought the audience’s attention to folklore, faith, and mythology.

The film stars Rishab in the lead alongside Rukmini Vasanth, Jayaram and Gulshan Devaiah.

Released on October 2, it clashed with Bollywood’s Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, but it did not have even a little impact on Kantara: Chapter 1’s collection.
