Kiara Advani slammed a social media page for misusing her old Good Newwz interview, after it claimed she wanted her daughter to inherit Kareena Kapoor’s qualities.

Bollywood actor Kiara Advani, who welcomed her daughter with husband Sidharth Malhotra in July, recently addressed a resurfaced interview clip that went viral on social media. A popular page shared her old comments about Kareena Kapoor, suggesting that Kiara wanted her daughter to have Kareena’s qualities. The post came just a day after her baby’s birth, sparking a strong reaction from the Good Newwz actress.
The Instagram page, Bolly Masala, had uploaded a collage of Kiara and Kareena with the caption: “Kiara Advani wants her daughter to have Kareena Kapoor’s qualities. She and Sidharth recently welcomed a baby girl.” Unhappy with the timing and framing, Kiara took to the comments section and wrote: “This was said during the promotions of our film Good Newwz. Kindly stop putting old interviews out of context.”
Kiara’s candid response quickly made headlines, with social media users divided over her approach. Many praised her for confronting pages that recycle old interviews to create misleading content. One fan wrote, “I’m so glad someone called out such pages directly because celebs get trolled for no reason.” Another added, “Wish more actors responded this way. These pages thrive on twisting statements.”
However, some felt Kiara could have been gentler. A user commented, “That was rude though. She could have ignored it since she did say that. It’s not like they made it up.” The debate highlighted the constant scrutiny actors face in the digital age, especially after major personal milestones like parenthood.
The Original Interview & Upcoming Projects
The statement in question dates back to 2019, when Kiara promoted Good Newwz alongside Kareena Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, and Diljit Dosanjh. In a chat with journalist Faridoon Shahryar, she was asked what qualities of Kareena she would like her daughter to have. Kiara replied, “Her confidence, her expressions, her aura. All her qualities. She is a 10 on 10.”
On the work front, Kiara was last seen in War 2, directed by Ayan Mukerji, featuring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR. The film earned ₹364.35 crore worldwide despite mixed reviews. She is now gearing up for her Kannada debut in Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown Ups with Yash. The film, which also stars Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria, Achyut Kumar and Akshay Oberoi, is currently in production and has already generated significant buzz.
