Ranbir Kapoor turns 43 today, but while fans celebrate his birthday, another piece of news has captured everyone’s attention – Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh have welcomed their first child, a baby girl. The moment marks a new chapter for Bollywood’s star couple, and it has also brought back a light-hearted wish Ranbir once made on Koffee With Karan about Deepika and Ranveer’s future together.
Ranbir’s memorable KWK moment
Back in 2016, Ranbir Kapoor joined Ranveer Singh on Koffee With Karan season 5, where host Karan Johar couldn’t resist revisiting the shared history between Ranbir and Deepika. Dismissing any awkwardness, Ranbir said, “We’ve positively moved on in our lives and it’s high time that Koffee with Karan also moves on. Because there’s no elephant, it has disappeared, it is invisible.”
When asked if their past ever bothered Ranveer, the actor replied with a smile, “No. Why should it? Should it?”
The wish that came true
Ranbir, in that same conversation, had praised the couple’s bond. “Just the way they are with each other, they complement each other very well. They are in ways perfect to each other’s energies and I am really happy for them and I hope that they can see this through and make some really awesome babies together and I hope their babies like me as an actor and that I am their favourite actor.”
Ranveer, known for his quick wit, joked that Ranbir had gone off-script that day – but the remark has now aged in the sweetest way, as Deepika and Ranveer begin their journey as parents.
From then to now
The couple tied the knot in 2018 after six years of dating. Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor married Alia Bhatt in 2022, and the two are parents to their daughter Raha. Eight years since that KWK episode, both Deepika–Ranveer and Ranbir–Alia have moved forward, building happy families of their own.

Shared via his lifestyle brand Arks, the clip shows Ranbir speaking directly to fans with warmth and gratitude, while an unexpected voice — none other than that of his and Alia Bhatt’s daughter Raha Kapoor’s — in the backdrop stole attention.
“Hi, I want to take this moment to say thank you to all of you for all the love and wishes coming to me on my birthday. I’m 43 years old today. As you can see, a lot of greys in my beard. It keeps increasing year by year. But a lot of gratitude in my heart for my family, for my friends, for my work, and mostly for all you guys. Thank you so much for your time. You make me feel so special,” Ranbir said in the heartfelt video.
