Emraan Hashmi is currently getting all the love for his cameo in Aryan Khan’s directorial debut The Ba***ds of Bollywood. While fans pour in love to him, the actor is gearing up for one of the most exciting projects of all time, as he is all set to kickstart the shoot of the sequel to his much-loved film Awarapan 2. Reports have claimed that the actor, along with Disha Patani, will start the shooting of the sequel film in Bangkok.
As per Pinkvilla, a source revealed, “Awarapan 2 is set to go on floors this week in Bangkok with the two leads, Emraan Hashmi and Disha Patani. The duo, along with the ensemble, will be stationed in Bangkok for a month. It’s a marathon schedule where over 50 percent of the film will be shot.” The source further revealed that the makers are planning to shoot at all the real locations.
The portal further revealed a source sharing that the producers are planning to go big on the music album and shared, “Music is an important part of the Awarapan franchise, and the sequel won’t disappoint the fans. After the 30-day schedule in Bangkok, the team will reunite for another leg in Mumbai. The idea is to call it a wrap on the film by January 2026.”
“The entire shoot has been designed to meet all deadlines of release. The makers have announced a lucrative holiday release, and they will be sticking to the date of arrival at this point in time. Emraan Hashmi is excited to return as Shivam, whereas Disha is looking forward to entering the world of this intense romantic saga,” the source added while confirming that the film will hit theatres on April 3, 2026.
Awarapan 2 Announcement
On his birthday, Emraan Hashmi had announced the sequel to his 2007 much-loved romance drama. The clip also features Emraan’s iconic character from the film, standing on a boat, looking at the sun setting behind the city’s skyline. Emraan is also seen setting a bird free from the cage, while he narrates, “Kisi aur ki zindagi ke liye marna hi meri manzil hai (To die for someone else’s life is my destiny).” “Awarapan 2, The journey continues,” reads the text at the end of the teaser. The song Tera Mera Rishta from the 2007 film plays in the background. The actor shared the teaser and announced that the sequel will release in theatres in 2026. “Bas mujhe kuch aur der zinda rakh… #Awarapan2 in cinemas, 3rd April 2026. #Awarapan2,” read the caption.
