Celebrated actress Shabana Azmi turned 75 in style, and the highlight of the evening was a delightful dance performance with her husband, lyricist Javed Akhtar. The legendary couple swayed to Connie Francis’ evergreen track Pretty Little Baby, leaving everyone in awe.
Shabana looked radiant in a flowy maroon ensemble featuring bright red borders and a statement brooch that added a regal touch to her outfit. She paired it with minimal accessories and a tied-up hairstyle, exuding grace and charm. Javed Akhtar complemented her in a red kurta layered with a black Nehru jacket, giving him a classic, festive look. Together, they twirled and laughed, recreating a scene of pure joy as the crowd clapped along.

The heartwarming moment quickly went viral after Farah Khan shared the video on Instagram with the caption, “Now thats how u turn 75!! Happy birthday @azmishabana18 ❤️ may you and @javedjaduofficial always be this young.”
Celebrities present at the celebration couldn’t contain their excitement. Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Akhtar were seen smiling ear to ear as they watched the couple steal the show. Earlier in the day, Urmila Matondkar had penned a heartfelt birthday note for Shabana Azmi while recalling their first meeting during the photoshoot of her debut film Masoom (1983). She wrote, “Year 1983..location Janki Kutir Tiny, anxious n nervous me see the great Shabana Azmi for photo shoot of ‘Masoom’ n thereafter it’s been an exceptional bond of love, respect, admiration, learning, laughters, madness n so much more (sic).”
Urmila added, “There are many things I could thank you for but above all it would have to be for constantly reminding me ‘how to live life at its fullest with everything that it throws at you’!!! … Happy Birthday Queen. 75 never rocked more than this @azmishabana18 (sic).”
