At the red carpet celebration for the Season 3 finale in Paris, Jenny Han confirmed that the movie will continue directly from where the series ended. While keeping plot details under wraps, she assured fans the story has more to offer.
“There is another big milestone left in Belly’s journey, and I thought only a movie could give it its proper due. I’m so grateful to Prime Video for continuing to support my vision for this story and for making it possible to share this final chapter with the fans,” Han said.
The series, adapted from Han’s bestselling novels, followed Belly as she navigated love, heartbreak, and self-discovery through three seasons. Each installment was based on a book from her trilogy, making the upcoming film an entirely new extension of Belly’s journey.
Prime Video Celebrates A Global Phenomenon
Amazon revealed that The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 debut drew over 25 million viewers worldwide within a week of release, cementing its place as one of the platform’s most successful teen dramas.

The cast led by Lola Tung, alongside Christopher Briney, Gavin Casalegno, Jackie Chung, Rachel Blanchard, Sean Kaufman, and Rain Spencer, is expected to return for the film. Han will co-showrun with Sarah Kucserka, with both also serving as executive producers.
