Payal Rohatgi and Sangram Singh’s marriage is once again under the scanner. For months now, the couple has been in the news for all the wrong reasons including cryptic posts, public fights, and whispers of trouble behind closed doors. Their relationship, once seen as strong and steady, now seems to be facing storm after storm.
The tension first caught public attention when Payal stepped away from Sangram’s charitable trust. Then came a viral video of a heated argument that left fans shocked. And now, new rumours have added fuel to the fire, linking Sangram to another actress.
Sangram Singh cheating on Payal Rohatgi?
Over the past few months, Sangram has found himself linked to actress Nikita Rawal after fans noticed their growing online interactions. Social media sleuths pointed out heart emojis and affectionate comments exchanged between the two. This has led to a frenzy of dating rumours.
Sources close to the matter have only fanned the flames further. One insider told IANS, “Both Nikita and Sangram have been very discreet about their relationship, but they are quite serious about each other. They wanted to keep it away from the limelight until they felt comfortable.”
The same source revealed that the two have allegedly been seeing each other for six months, with their once low-key bond now blossoming into something deeper.
These developments have inevitably fueled whispers of tension between Payal and Nikita, though none of the three individuals have issued a public statement.
When Sangram-Payal’s divorce speculation first went viral
It all started in July this year when Payal Rohatgi shocked fans after announcing her resignation as director of the Sangram Singh Charitable Foundation, citing “personal reasons.” Sharing the update on Instagram, she captioned her post with the telling line, “Sometimes peace looks like distance,” along with the hashtag “Ladki Hoon Lad Sakti Hoon.” A picture of her resignation letter accompanied the post, sparking rumours of discord in their marriage.
Following her exit, Sangram’s sister Sunita Kumari stepped in to take over the foundation’s operations.
This was not the first time trouble brewed between the couple. Back in December 2024, a video of the two in a heated argument went viral online. In the clip, Payal accused Sangram of mistreating her due to her inability to conceive. The actress later clarified her position, explaining that it was Sangram’s words that she had to censor in the recording, insisting that she was not abusive.
Payal was heard saying, “Tumhare ghar mein aurato ke sath aise baat ki jaati hai. Tum log padhe-likhe nahi ho theek hai, par aise baat ki jaati hai.” She also warned Sangram to never again taunt her about not becoming a mother.
How the rumours affected Payal and Sangram
Speaking exclusively to News18 Showsha, Sangram Singh shared how these split-up reports affected their families. “On the day of our anniversary, reports about our divorce started doing the rounds,” he told us.
The wrestler added, “We began getting frantic messages from family members, relatives and members of the media. We kept wondering what we should do and that’s when I decided to issue a clarification. And once I posted the picture [of them on the occasion of their anniversary], it cleared the air. But all of this felt wrong. I don’t understand why people speculate without confirming with us first. These things affect our families.”
But Payal was at the receiving end of widespread criticism for her rude exchanges with journalists who had reached out to her for a statement on their divorce rumours. Reacting to it, Sangram stated how in the past, he would often dissuade her from taking things to social media, but she wouldn’t listen and so, he has now stopped. “Payal ji’s very expressive and so, she put it [news of resignation] on social media. I, on the other hand, believe in doing things quietly. Mujhe gussa na ke barabar hota hai,” he shared.
Sangram continued, “I’ve often told her in the past to not put up certain things on social media as it affects her image and reputation but she disagrees. Agar unko khushi mile, toh daale. Payal ji has no filter and is blunt but that’s her nature. I used to explain to her that these things affect our own peace of mind but those talks would result in arguments. But hum alag hai, issi liye saath hai. Had we been similar, we wouldn’t have been together.”
Payal and Sangram tied the knot on July 9, 2022, in an intimate ceremony in Agra after dating for several years.
