Bollywood actress Urvashi Rautela and former TMC MP and Bengali actress Mimi Chakraborty have been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in an ongoing illegal betting app case. While Mimi has been asked to appear at the ED headquarters in Delhi on September 15, Urvashi has been asked to appear on September 16.
As per a report in India Today, a source confirmed the news and stated, “Both have been asked to appear at the ED office in the 1xBet app case.” While the report of Mimi Chakraborty and Urvashi Rautela being summoned by the ED has been gaining headlines, the duo has not shared any statement regarding the same.
Earlier, former cricketers Suresh Raina and Shikhar Dhawan were also summoned by the ED. Raina appeared at the Delhi office on August 13, while Dhawan appeared on September 4.

Actress Lakshmi Manchu was in the headlines recently when she was questioned by the ED in a case related to promoting an illegal betting app. The ED recently summoned many actors, and Lakshmi Manchu was one of them.
Actors Prakash Raj, Vijay Deverakonda, and Rana Daggubati have also been questioned in connection with the case. Prakash Raj revealed he promoted a betting app back in 2016 but did not accept any payment and later distanced himself from it on moral grounds. Vijay Deverakonda maintained that he endorsed a legal gaming app, not a betting platform, and similarly declined payment due to ethical concerns. Rana Daggubati was also questioned regarding his earnings from promoting a betting brand.
The ED’s probe includes 29 individuals, such as actors and social media influencers, suspected of endorsing illegal betting apps on digital platforms. The agency is investigating the financial transactions and online trails tied to these endorsements to uncover the extent of the operation.

Lakshmi recently talked about the questioning and said, “You know, it’s an ED sit. I find it very humorous that our government will come to the tail end of the person. I’m like, bro, look at who started it.”
While expressing her disappointment about how the media covered the news, she stated, “I was really upset because the newspaper reported something very different from what we actually did.”
