Expectations were sky-high for Karthik Gattamneni’s fantasy adventure Mirai, starring Teja Sajja, Manchu Manoj, and Ritika Nayak. Released on Friday, the film generated significant buzz among fans, and its box office performance has now confirmed the hype.

According to the latest update from Sacnilk, Mirai opened to Rs 12 crore nationwide on its first day, achieving an overall 8.81% Hindi occupancy. The positive word of mouth across regions indicates that the film is set to continue its strong performance through the opening weekend.

Mirai Surpasses HanuMan, Sets New Record for Teja Sajja

With this opening, Mirai has become the highest-grossing day-one release of Teja Sajja’s career, surpassing the Rs 8 crore collected by his previous film, HanuMan, in 2024. The strong debut reflects both the anticipation for the fantasy genre and the popularity of the lead cast.

Produced by TG Vishwa Prasad and Krithi Prasad under People Media Factory, Mirai revolves around a young warrior tasked with protecting nine sacred scriptures capable of turning mortals into deities. The story explores human values such as compassion, ethics, greed, and hatred, blending mythology with a contemporary fantasy narrative.

Alongside Teja Sajja, the film also stars Manchu Manoj, Ritika Nayak, Shriya Saran, Jagapathi Babu, and Jayaram in key roles. Karthik Gattamneni co-wrote the film with Manibabu Karanam, delivering a gripping screenplay praised for its pace, visuals, and cinematic grandeur.

Fans and Critics Praise the Film

The buzz surrounding the film has been further amplified by filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, who took to social media to praise the movie. On X (formerly Twitter), RGV wrote, “A BIG SHOUT OUT ttejasajja123 @Karthik_gatta and @vishwaprasadtg for delivering an INDUSTRY HIT … Not since BAHUBALI did I hear such UNANIMOUS PRAISE for any other film #Mirai … Both the VFX and the Narrative GRIP are of HOLLYWOOD STANDARD.”

Fans couldn’t agree more. Comments flooded online, with one saying, “True, Hollywood-level stuff.” Another wrote, “Mirai is the best movie. Wonderfully performed by all the actors, and the director has also done an excellent job. VFX is top-notch. One word for the movie is next level.” Another fan added, “Absolutely! It’s amazing to see such talent getting the recognition it deserves. Mirai is like a game-changer.”

With a strong opening of Rs 12 crore on day one, positive word of mouth, and critical acclaim, Mirai is shaping up to be a major hit at the box office, setting new benchmarks for Teja Sajja and the fantasy genre in Indian cinema.
