Ashneer Grover hinted Salman Khan may not watch every Bigg Boss episode and explained why he’s unbothered by comparisons with Bigg Boss 19.

Ashneer Grover is no stranger to being in the spotlight, whether for his blunt statements or his TV presence. With his new reality show drawing attention, questions naturally arose about whether he fears being slotted against Bigg Boss 19, especially given his history with Salman Khan.
Dismissing any concerns, Grover told the Indian Express, “Nahi yaar, fear kya hai? We’ve launched a new product in the market. It’s a free market. If you launch a new soap in the market and ask not to be compared to other soaps out there, that’s strictly your perception. If people are going to use it for a certain purpose, they’re going to slot you into a certain box. If this follows the reality show format, people are going to club it with other reality shows like Bigg Boss, which has been around for 19 years. So yeah, let there be comparisons. It’s not like my show is going to shut down because of that.”

Grover made it clear that competition is natural in a free market and he welcomes comparisons instead of shying away from them.
Subtle Dig At Salman Khan’s Hosting Style
When asked if he picked up anything from Salman Khan’s hosting style, Ashneer made a remark that raised eyebrows. “One thing I’ve clearly picked up is that you’ve to watch the episodes yourself. You can’t be a part of the show and only go by what’s told to you about what happened on the show. Only if you watch the show will the genuine remarks and comments come out.”
Many interpreted this as a sly hint that Salman may not always watch every episode of Bigg Boss himself, instead relying on summaries. While Grover didn’t name him directly, the timing of the comment sparked speculation about whether it was a deliberate dig.
A History Of Tense Exchanges
This isn’t the first time Ashneer has spoken candidly about Salman Khan. In a past interview, he recalled an uncomfortable experience during a sponsored ad shoot where Salman’s team allegedly refused a photo opportunity. Grover recounted, “Maine bola, nahi khichwaunga photo, bhaad main ja tu. Matlab aisi kaunsi heropanti ho gayi.”
Later, when Ashneer appeared on Bigg Boss 18 as a guest, Salman didn’t hold back. The superstar called him out for making misleading statements about their past interactions and reminded him to be cautious with his words. Grover eventually apologised, saying he had no intention of disrespecting Salman.
