Rupali Ganguly, known for her role in Anupamaa, recently expressed her frustration on social media after being stuck in traffic outside Film City, Mumbai, for over 1 hour. She slammed the BMC’s ‘haphazard’ functioning after her 14 km journey to Film City took her more than double the usual time due to metro work chaos. The actress took a rickshaw ride to reach the sets, and she revealed being stuck for over 1 hour outside Film City in Goregaon. She said that while it usually takes her 1 hour to reach sets from home, it took her 2.5 hours today due to severe traffic congestion, worsened by the ongoing metro construction work in the area. She accused BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) of taking Mumbaikars for granted.

Rupali Ganguly slammed the poor planning and mismanagement by BMC and metro authorities, and questioned why large construction containers were being moved during peak hours, at 10 AM, when most people are commuting to work. She suggested that such operations should be carried out during early morning hours around 3 to 4 AM, to avoid disrupting the daily traffic. Sharing a video of the traffic chaos from her rickshaw, the Anupamaa actress wrote, “Still stuck for over 1 hour now outside filmcity ! For a 14 km distance it takes me 2 hours to get home at night and mornings usually 1 hour but because of @mybmc haphazard functioning it took me 2 and a half hours to get to my set !! Stop taking #mumbaikars for granted @mybmc!!!!”

In the video, Rupali mentioned that the road to Film City has been completely jammed for over 50 minutes. “I have been waiting outside Film City. Now there is some Metro construction going on outside Film City. And this so-called management of the Metro, the BMC, whoever responsible, had to get such a big container. Half the road is anyway blocked because of it. If they had to get this, they should have done this at 3 am-4 am in the morning. Not at a time when everybody is going to work. At 10 am!” she said, voicing her frustration.

She also shared the video on her Instagram stories and wrote, “Stuck for over 1 hour now !!! BMC you are the most disorganized and literally the pits! Stop taking public for granted.”
