Satish Shah urged Indians to boycott the upcoming India-Pakistan Asia Cup 2025 match.
While Indian actors are not collaborating with Pakistani artists amid growing tension between the two countries, the cricket teams of both nations are set to play together on September 14 in the Asia Cup 2025. With the two teams set to clash in a match, veteran actor Satish Shah has called for a boycott of the upcoming match, stating that “he has lost respect for our team.”
Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), Shah demanded a strict boycott of the match, writing, “I sincerely urge every patriotic true Indian to strictly boycott the India-Pakistan match. Just switch off the TV. I have lost respect for our team for sure.”

Pakistani films and shows are already banned in India, and the social media accounts of several Pakistani celebrities have also been restricted. Recently, Diljit Dosanjh received severe hate after his film Sardaar Ji 3 was released overseas, starring Pakistani actress Hania Aamir.
Netizens React To Satish Shah’s Post
As Shah posted a comment, many reacted to it. One wrote, “Sir, nice to see you take a stand against an absolutely shameful act of playing Pakistan while Operation Sindoor is still on. But more than our team, it was up to the Government to come up with the policy governing this important issue. But yes, as a common man, we need to boycott the match and register the protest.” Another user commented, “Why you lost respect for the team, it’s not the team that has decided, it’s the BCCI.” A third comment read, “Satishji, you are a wise man. I can’t believe you are blaming ICT. Don’t blame the team; shameless BCCI and incompetent GoI have scheduled the matches, the buck stops there.”
“You should lose respect for BCCI and GoI. Our players are respectable. It’s not their fault. I will certainly boycott every match and encourage everyone to do the same,” another wrote. “It isn’t the team/players’ fault. It’s the management, board, and the government that are responsible for giving a green signal and going ahead with the match,” one wrote.
An India-Pakistan cricket clash is always a high-voltage affair, but the upcoming match in Dubai carries even greater significance given the recent tensions between the two nations. This will be their first encounter since both countries nearly went to war in May 2025, before a ceasefire was brokered by international mediators.
Fans in India will be able to catch all the action through live telecast and online streaming.
