As Dabangg nears its 15th anniversary, filmmaker Abhinav Kashyap has once again opened up about his bitter fallout with Salman Khan and his family. Kashyap, who directed the 2010 blockbuster that launched one of Bollywood’s biggest franchises, has alleged that his refusal to helm Dabangg 2 led to a campaign of sabotage against him. In an interview with SCREEN, Abhinav said, “Salman is never involved. He is not even interested in acting, and he hasn’t been since the last 25 years. He does a favour by turning up to work. He is more into the power of being a celebrity, but he is not interested in acting. He is a gunda (goon).”
Former Bigg Boss contestant Aly Goni has responded to the wave of trolling he faced online after a video from Mumbai’s Ganpati celebrations went viral. The clip showed him standing silently while his girlfriend, actress Jasmine Bhasin, and others chanted “Ganpati Bappa Morya.” In a conversation with Filmygyan, Aly said, “I didn’t even realise it. I was lost in my thoughts. I never imagined something like this could create such a big issue. This was my first time attending Ganpati celebrations…I usually don’t go. I didn’t know what exactly I was supposed to do there, and I always worry that I might unintentionally do something wrong,” he said. He further added, “It’s not allowed in my religion, hum puja nahi karte hai. We have one belief — we offer namaz, we pray, and we respect all religions. It is written in the Quran that we must respect everyone, and I do.”
