Bhojpuri star Pawan Singh has officially entered the reality show Rise And Fall, hosted by Ashneer Grover. His participation comes just days after he faced major backlash for allegedly inappropriately touching actress Anjali Raghav, known for her Haryanvi music videos, during a promotional event in Lucknow for their song Saiya Seva Kare.
Pawan Singh Promises Film Role To Akriti Negi
In the show’s premiere episode on Saturday, September 6, Singh was seen interacting with Splitsvilla X5 winner Akriti Negi. During their conversation, Akriti admitted that she had never worked in films despite having the desire to do so. “Movie nahi kiya. Mann hai, lekin abhi tak woh chance nahi mila,” she said.
Seizing the moment, Pawan Singh offered her a role. When Negi asked, “Aap humko denge? Sacchi?” the actor replied confidently, “Maine 250 se zyada filmein ki hain,” highlighting his prolific career in Bhojpuri cinema.
The Contestants Of Rise And Fall
The reality show, which thrives on the high-stakes “Rulers vs Workers” format, features an eclectic mix of contestants. Alongside Singh, the line-up includes Kiku Sharda, Arbaz Patel, Aditya Narayan, Dhanashree Verma, Nayandeep Rakshit, Noorin Sha, Bali, Aarush Bhola, Arjun Bijlani, Sangeeta Phogat, Anaya Bangar, Aahana Kumara, and Kubbra Sait.
The Anjali Raghav Controversy
Pawan Singh’s entry into Rise And Fall has been overshadowed by his recent controversy with actress Anjali Raghav. After a video showing Singh touching Anjali’s waist went viral, the actress condemned his behaviour and announced that she would no longer work in the Bhojpuri film industry.
On August 31, Singh issued a public apology via his Instagram story, writing, “Anjali ji, I wasn’t able to see your live due to my busy schedule. When I came to know about it, I felt bad. I had no wrong intention towards you because we are artists. Despite this, if you have been hurt by any of my behavior, I am sorry.”
What Lies Ahead
While Singh’s apology has not fully quelled criticism, his presence on Rise And Fall is expected to generate further conversation, both for his reality show persona and his professional choices. Whether his promise to Akriti Negi translates into an actual film collaboration remains to be seen, but the moment has already added to the buzz surrounding the show.
